Red Wine and Chocolate

Hey !

Let us bask in the glow that is two glasses of red wine shall we. A very nice Austrailian Shiraz, oaky, rich and yadda yadda yadda (ick did I just 'do' a Sienfield thing..ewwwww). Did I mention the alcohol content yet??? No ? Well let me say that the buzz is nice. I probably should have eaten before I had the first glass. We live, we learn, we have the hangover. Whatever.

I'm so ashamed of my recent obession...it's...oh my god I can't believe I'm saying it out loud...where people can hear me...okay one person...probably. General Hospital the daytime SOAP OPERA...I have to tell myself they are NOT real people..how did I get back on this never ending ride ???

Oh I know I was at the gym and someone had it on and I saw the couple that I was a fan of so long ago (like '99 early '00 long ago) Jason and Elizabeth they were together *eyebrows frantically dancing up and down*. Holy moly they finally got them together after all this time ??? And that my friends was when I was lost to the dark side...sad but true. I think a lot of my recent obession has to do with the fan board that I became a member of...I think some of them honestly believe that the characters are real...seriously they talk about morals, and councelling for marriages and interventions...it's both funny and sad. Funny because they are well wing nuts and sad because the site has a strict policy about flaming members so I have to behave if I don't want to get banned and since they have pretty great spoilers I have to stay away from the reply button....DARN their delusional souls.

So red wine...good...with dark chocolate..even better. Staying away from the GHH2 boards...pretty good.

Long time no post !

Hi, how are ya ? Good...good. Hmm me not up to much. Working away at my new job. The daily grind and all that. Good stuff, keeps me in books and shoes, not as many as I'd like mind you but the feet are stylishly clad and the bookshelves overflow so that will have to do I guess. :)

I need to work on my getting up in the morning skills, that and planning what to wear the next day the night before skill. If I can get that ready perhaps it won't be as umm 'stressful' and that chewing my breakfast might actually happen.

I saw an awesome concert last Friday night, INXS...great, great GREAT show ! This weekend I have a wine tasting/show thing to go to..that should be fun ! Wheee pass me the tylenol !

Okay so I think I'll be making regular appearences here. It's a great place to rant if nothing else.

Lazy Day

Today was a very lazy day. I had the day off due to a civic holiday and the weather was such that staying inside and reading until my brain melted seemed to be a good idea.

I was delighted to get a book from Chapters in the mail this morning about 930 or so, and then perplexed when at 1230 when I was more than halfway through the book the doorbell rings and the mailperson delivers a second copy of said book ! This was after an email/phone call to Chapters customer service (very professinal bunch) regarding the message that it seemed my order had been cancelled. It had not been cancelled it had just been caught in the crunch of a system upgrade. So there you go I have a second copy of a book (now read) that I will return tomorrow.

After I read the book "Cast in Courtlight" by Michelle Sagara which I enjoyed so very much. In fact if only the 2nd copy had been the 3rd I would have been a very very happy reader. Who knows when the 3rd will be released however....probably not till next year... *scowl*.

Hmmm what was I saying...oh yes after the book reading I did nothing.... NOOOthing... noTHING.... it was perfectly grand.

I'm looking forward to my vacation starting really soon...315 on Friday...but I'm not keeping track or anything. I probably should have kept the book that arrived today to read then I suppose.

A Good Day

A day off work, not so notable when given the fact that I usually have every 2nd Monday off anyway. Taken in conjunction with the fact that today is a work holiday so tomorrow is a day off for me too...that's a good deal.

So beyond the sleeping in, which I enjoy so much that it should be a sin. I was actually productive too ! *shocked face*...I did laundry, I'm in the process of doing the whole, keep, toss, and charity thing with clothes/items from my room....freeing up a lot of space and I have a floor...it has grey carpet....it needs to be vaccumed but I only focus on one thing at a time.

I received mail today...two pieces...one was from Ireland and the other from Texas. The Ireland one was from a guy I know on a MB who I sent a bday card/postcards to as there is a group set up to do that. He apparently then went out and bought up what post cards there were in his general vicinity and has been happily sending them out hand over fist to all on that MB. The US package was a book I won on a blog contest...I had thought that I got the details wrong as originally I thought it was two books but when only one arrived (different author) I assumed that it was the only one...so today was a happy day.

Wanna see my mail ???

Walk, walk and walk some more.

My feet hurt.

I've done a lot of walking this week. From Tuesday on I've gone for a walk at lunch time around a nearby pond at work. It's very relaxing and breaks the day up making it seem to go faster. Anything that makes the workday go faster is a good thing in my book. Then yesterday I went for a walk after work with a co-worker around the pond...we went twice. Now today I was all on my own....nary a co-worker wanted to go. They thought it was going to rain. I laughed in the face of impending rain drops and went on anyway. I got outside the building and nearly turned around. I persevered however and forged on ahead. I had a lovely rain free solitary walk. On this walk I was able to let my brain range free and think such thougths as.....that's a shifty looking squirrel and that submerged log looks like an aligator, it's good that we don't have aligators in NL. After work I walked to the gym and worked out, then walked 20 mins to a bus stop that would get me home sooner.

My feet hurt.

I have a long weekend...and extra long one if we are being honest. I should try and be productive or something and do fun things. I should go out and meet people. I'll probably do laundry and read.

My feet still hurt.

Attack of the Soup Can !

So the last couple of weeks have been pretty low key. If you don't take into account the fake poop sent in to my work place or the fake fire / alarm clock scare that necessitated the fire department being called to the building where I live. Pretty much the norm for me. Oh ! Of course my sister A was nearly brained by a can of vegetable beef soup that's pretty noteworthy.

The Mummy is on ! I LOVE that movie. I am not in the habit of rewatching movies, I'm just not. I blame my brother T as he is a frequent re-watcher he watched Batman so often when it was released on VHS that I had the darn thing memorized for a couple of years. The Mummy however hits that balance between 1940's - 50's adventure movie with a modern edge. I *heart* this movie.

On the book front I'm looking forward to picking up a couple of new books in the next few days. Both are paranormal storylines, I don't know that I would call them romances but I would think that they have that aspect in there.

I need a couple of new summer items for my wardrobe, not too many just another couple of tanks and one or four of those tops that you can wear over them to dress them up for the office/work. I've seen a couple and hope to get some this week. I really want something that looks like a shrug, are they still "in".

This week is jeans week at work, that should be fun I need to do a jean count tomorrow. I really, really and I do mean really need to clean my room. Do the whole toss out what doesn't fit, never fit, what the NFBSK was I thinking when I got that ! If I do the whole jean inventory tomorrow that may mean buying a new pair of jeans. I could handle that. Of course I'd need new shoes to go with the new jeans, and whatever tops I got...right ???

Carry your ladle and watch out for renegade soup cans.

Lights ! Sirens ! False Alarm ?!

Hey today,

So I'm tired today...why am I tired today you ask ?

Well it might have something to do with the fact that at about the very time I was about to get myself ready for bed last night, just as I was in midst of last glance on snopes around 11 or so I hear sirens.

Not a big deal for my neighborhood....nope not at all, okay there are the nice flashing redlights...hmmm sirens have stopped....hmmm flashing red lights are just sitting outside....ACK they're right in front of my house !!!!

So I rush to the window, like ya would and I see them beating it in to the house next door (those new neighbors I KNEW it). The firemen pound up the stairs next door, my twin pounds down the stairs in our apartment, jeans hauled on pj shirt flapping, slowing down long enough to haul on shoes and jacket saying "I'm going outside!", I haul on my shoes and follow her as well. I get down to the bottom of the stairs, my twin is at one of the fire trucks questioning WTF is on the go. I stand on the step.

There are two *ahem* ladies standing on the steps next door, one of them is dressed, the other is well...ummm wow bras do come in handy on a day to day basis huh...maybe you'd like to close that sweater you are wearing over the almost sheer pj top you have on ?? No? Well then...I continue to stand on the step.

My twin comes back, still in the dark the firemen are checking out the building. They exit building right next door, and go in one building over, not one of the firemen approaches my sister or I to ask if we heard/saw/smelled smoke or anything, my twin goes over to hear what they are saying, I contine to stand on the step.

Twin returns and says "they were called because of a fire alarm", I leave the comfort, safety and luxury of the steps to wander over to the "ladies" it turns out dressed lady had heard an alarm she didn't know what it was so she called the FD, who are now milling around outside, I return to the step, where twin and I make plans to tackle a couple of the cute ones and drag them upstairs, but we have to watch which ones have axes.

Then the incident commander guy shows up from somewhere, he is talking to the ladies who called it in, I wander over to eavesdrop. He is telling them yes he heard "something, that sounded like an alarm clock"....OMG I had at least 7 years frightened off my life, I was making plans to evacuate the cats and possibly actually wake other sister up and it was a GD alarm clock !!!! *&^%$@#@! *&^%^&$#@ !

I go in, lock the door behind me and make my way upstairs, 3rd sister is sitting on the couch in her flannels, hair mussed, blinking, we let her know all is good, she's back to bed in a flash, the cats are beyond traumatized and are slinking around like nothing I've ever seen before. I say "hi bean" and he takes off upstairs like his tail is on fire. He then proceeds to peak around the top of the stairs to see the big scary person who dared speak to him. Sooooo 3rd sister is sleeping soundly, twin follows her example and is snoozing in no time, I'm riding an adrenalin rush and end up watching CSI Miami, and some sort of ultimate fighting thing which is really sad and disturbing. I'm up till 1, to bed to toss and turn for most of the night.

Uh you've got a little something....

So I had an interesting seat on the bus, once I got on the right one that is, this evening. I was sitting behind a gentleman who had his face tattooed (sp?). On one cheek he had a snarling wolf and on the other it was cat (panther perhaps) staring out of a blood red eye. Then he also had his neck tattoo's a bunch of different little bits of bright ink. Out of all of them and they were very well drawn, very detailed and artistic the ones that squicked me out were the neck ones.

*shudder* Just the very thought of a needle piercing the skin over and over and over again right over the big veins in the neck ....ACK !

I just finished a rather lovely pumpkin spice latte from The Second Cup. Nice and spice filled, heavy on the nutmeg I believe. I treated my sister to a butter pecan one, and I think next time I will try another flavour just to go through the list....ooooh or maybe one of those frozen hot chocolate things I've been meaning to get one of those for ages. I'll wait till a warmer evening though, when the cold beverage will not hasten my fears of hypothermia.

Things I like

Books are at the the very top of my list. I've enjoyed book for ever so long, I've been known to read several books in one day. Today's count was two. They arrived in the mail from Chapters, the postperson (it was a guuurrrrrrrrl who done brought dem) rang the bell and even though I should have been doing all sorts of productive things with my day off I instead succumbed to the lure of the unread books ripped open the package and by turn was immersed in the supernatualal world of a telepathic barmaid and then in a plague ravaged Canada as a mountie and her partner solved a mystery and stopped a mass outbreak. Fun Stuff.

The other two books I've read this weekend are my copy of "Dark Need" that I won as an ARC and although I enjoyed the book I'm also secretly relieved that I didn't have to pay for it...even though when it came out if I didn't already have it I would have bought it. Also after lurking on another website I came out with a reccomendation for another paranormal romance about a shifter woman who turns into a fox in New York City and the trouble that occurs when the "Others" are on the verge of being outed to the general public.

The other things I like.

Chocolate, oooh and of course my bestest friend in the whole big wide world she who knows the meaning of bingo money and understands the words Bill, salvation arms etc. feeling healthy..(not so much the working out but after...doesn't suck), Hugh Jackman, Battlestar Galactica, comics, music, chocolate, books that I want to re-read, accents like Irish or Scottish, ice cream, laughing, shoes, laundry dried on the line, purring cats, sooooo much more.

Okay I'm going to try and be better about the bloging, hope I can be disciplined enough.

Babies, Books and how about Shoes ??

Hey there,

Long time no post ! Didja miss me ? Huh ? Huh ? Likely not but I have returned to spew ungramatical sentences with misspelled words out there for general consumption. (please chew all thoughts completley).

Had a pretty fabulous weekend. I spent time with my best friend and her family which was really great. There was laughing, food, movies, more laughing, time with her kids, again with the laughing, some more food and if you guessed laughing you are correct ! I find it fascinating seeing parents deal with their children. I just don't get it they have to tread the line of nuturer, provider, disciplinarian, teacher, chief cook and bottle washer, referee, miracle worker, etc and so forth in such a manner that I would use up all the blog space. In the entire universe.

When I say I don't get it I mean my best friends kids are amazing, they are perfectly normal, which means they aren't perfect of course but they are from what I can tell, just miniature little people as opposed to other children who seem to be nothing more than air raid sirens housed in 9 year old bodies who will let the vocal cords rip if you accidently step in front of the tv when they are in mid trance.

Kudos to the parents who make it work and to those who don't enjoy Shady Pines.

Hmmm babies I held one the weekend a lovely little girl, and then this morning the joyous news that my SIL had a little girl herself and so I'm an aunt for the 2nd time and I couldn't be happier. I plan on shopping till the visa smokes tomorrow for all things girly yet not overly frou frou.

I added shoes to the subject line because I haven't bought a new pair if FOREVER and frankly I'm jonesing....I think I can hold it off till after my trip but I make no promises. I'd really like a new pair of black, low heeled go with anything from jeans to office wear shoes...or maybe a new suede pair...or maybe some cute mules...or something with a kitten heel...

I need to leave and drool over the shoes online now..perhaps I can feed the need with buying baby stuff. X's fingers and hopes for the best.

Whoopsie: I forgot the book part of my blog..I found out I won an ARC (advance reader copy) of an author I really enjoy from a series I started and was going to continue with and BONUS it's actually two books as the blog where I won if from is a different author so I'm getting her latest as well.

Mr. Bus Driver :- /

Dear Bus Driver,

Yeah you in the route 3 who pulled away from the mall just as I was running up to the side of the bus, I was in swatting distance of your vehicle and I know that the other bus driver(s) saw me and did nothing. The works of you deserve to have those smelly people sit on the bus right at the front and talk at ya until you pass out !!! May all the ATW haunt your routes for the rest of the week, I hope every single person asks "Is this bus to --------?" when it's written right on the side of the bus. Special thoughts to that particulary snarky a** driving route 4 today...yeah you are a jerk, I've seen/heard you before, the girl thought you were pulling away and knocked on the door of the bus, she did NOT deserve the response "Problem ?" and then for you to say to her when she got on "Try to have a little patience"...you sir are an assface !! Yes an assface and you and your assface co-workers are nothing but a horde of washed up losers who probably flunked out of heavy equipment 101 and were relegated to remedial busdriving.

Whew at least that's out of my system. Other than that things are just peachy keen, gym going on schedule, shopping for the trip a little behind, still have to buy a tanning package and start the crisping/browning (deeper shade of beige) before the trip, taxes are still undone (whoops), work is busy but the day flies by which is grand. Just waiting to welcome the new niece or nephew.

Sure I'm not that interesting !

So it has come to my attention that people have been talking about me...and I'm boggled by this fact. I talk a LOT about people, usually in a non malicious, did you hear kind of way but now that I know that the tables have been turned I'm shocked...I'm appalled and I'm well I'm absolultey gobsmacked.

Okay so gobsmacked is a little over the top, it was more of a "huh, well if you want to go ahead make sure to mention that I'm mostly sane, but only on the second Tuesdays of February in the leap year."

I had a co-worker ask me if I had a tattoo the other week, we were in the elevator talking about how my sister wants one and she asked me as if she was fully expecting me to say "yes". I don't have a tattoo but if my sister gets one I might, not matching ones or anything creepy like that but I just like the idea. My thoughts on that are if I can keep what I want and why I want it in my mind for longer than it takes to make microwave popcorn then I'll take the next step and see if it's something I actually want to do.

Are people with tattoo's a certain kind of person, do I seem like a tattoo person? Those questions were swirling around in my head for the rest of that work day. Then I got over it. Things go so much better for you work/life/fun wise if you can just let things go. Now I'm very amused at the co-worker who asked me...next time she asks perhaps I can say yes.

(there will however be no piercings, a nice stretched out dragon, or wilted rose by the time I'm 110 sure ! Bring on the "experimental" art....)

The best laid plans of mine..

Are soon in disarray, case in point the getting to work earlier well I'm on day two of that and still haven't managed it. I have however made it to the gym for the past three days, I'll be taking tomorrow off from working out because frankly I can't handle 4 days in a row upcoming bathing suit or not. I would have made a spectacular failure as a world class athelete.

"Well of course I didn't win those things take work you know ! And you have to get up early and I'm SO not about that !"

I'm listening to more classic rock lately due to the fact that I can't stand to listen to the top 40 radio station beyond the morning show. They still play a lot of the same songs over and over again of course but at least it's not the same 5 freaking songs for 4 - 5 weeks in a row. Today I heard Blondie's "Call Me" I haven't heard that song in ages, its a good song and I really wish I had been home to really crank it up and perhaps spin along in my computer chair (being careful of the drop between the dining room / living room of course). I cannot stand when the perky top 40 radio dj gets on and introduces the latest from the pussycat dolls "get wit u"...or some
similiar junk.

I do have to get up earlier tomorrow though I have to go in the opposite direction that I normally go to meet a co-worker. Not looking forward to trying to show a completly computer novice (by his own admission) how to log on to the off site computer system. Egads what is the world coming to if I'm showing people what to do !!!

I recommend a nap to everyone reading. All one of you.

Me.

Monday, Monday

So now that I've stuck that song in your head for the next two days...

Day off, not much accomplished beyond going to the gym and to the laundromat, but clean socks I now have clean socks...of my own ! For at least the next week I will not have to steal my sisters clean socks which I do on a regular basis. I figure though that since I do not fit into any of their clothes that sock stealing fulfils the sister clothes stealing clause of sisterdom.

I'm going to try something new this week, getting to work at 8 and leaving at 430 everyday it means actually getting the hell out of bed when the alarm goes off in the morning so I'm not sure if it will actually happen. It would however make my life ever so much easier which I'm hoping I remember at 630am tomorrow morning.

If I can leave work at 430 then I can get to the gym and home at a reasonable hour, not sure if I'm going to try for the gym every evening but I'd like a couple more sessions a week as the Cuba trip looms closer.

SWIMSUITS ! I bought a two piece on Sunday, a blue one it's prettiful, doesn't look too horrid on me and the price was right. I need at least two more suits and perhaps a saftey pin to hold the top of the two piece together as I know I will not trust that plastic clasp on the back....wait the tourist tag line is "Expose yourself to Newfoundland and Labrador" right not Cuba ? Oh see that's where I was getting mixed up.

So I want to get up at be at work for 8 I'd better go up to bed.

It wasn't a manic monday, it was definitely more of a laid back Mama's & Papa's Monday Monday.

Me.

I. LOVE. CREAMER. and other modified beverage tales :)

TGIF and all that jazz, although I don't particulary care for jazz so I'll have some rock instead, perhaps some Pearl Jam or even CCR.

Went out with a friend tonight for a latte and a laugh. The laughs are always on the menu, sometimes the latte (modified or not) doesn't always materialize but I'm a big girl and can adapt. My coping mechinisms include standing over the shoulder of the patrons in the coffee house and breathing really loudly through my mouth and heaving the occasional sigh until I unnerve them enough so that they will leave. GET OUT and STAY OUT...this is MY BOOTH.

After our latte's and continuing the laughter we went into the bookstore, randomly read some lists like did you know that one of the items left behind in one of London's lost items departments was a jar of bull semen ? Or how about two human skulls in a bag...or my personal favourite an urn with ashes in it. Now there's a item that you wouldn't want to have to look for. I imagine it was the evil mother in law of someone and finally after years and years of taking abuse from said E-MIL (evil mother in law) they just happened to "misplace" the wench on a stop over from Denmark to Euro-Disney as the E-MIL wanted her ashes spread from the tea cup ride as that was her favourite modified beverage. Go ahead leave your E-MIL's ashes in a foreign airport, you know you want to.

There is a man in the neighbourhood who has grown attached to a snowbank outside one of the fish and chip places. Whenever the snow clearing plows are around he appears from wherever (inside the snowbank perhaps like some sort of snowbank hobbit ??) and stands in front of the plow generally impeding them from clearing his snowbank. Weirdo. I usually watch this from behind my curtains and think thoughts like "weirdo", "snowman", "crazy a** ice chunk lovin stockin cap wearing plow baiter".

Thing I didn't expect to hear today "Yeah I'll be by shortly I just have to stop by Toys-R-Us and pick up a tub"....I laughed. Remember to read the ducks butt !

Waiting to read

I love to read. I've been a voracious reader from oh I don't know grade 1 ? grade 2 ? I remember telling the teacher that I didn't do my reading homework because who needs to read it more than once. I then had the "pleasure" of listening to classmates who struggled with every second word read, oh the torture that turned out to be. I just couldn't understand as a 6 year old why they couldn't read the story correctly. Every. Word. A. Complete. Sentence. ARRRRRRRRRGGH.

Now today, I have access to the internet, it tells me what books my local bookstore have (should have) in stock, I can join author boards, I can read on-line reviews, I can make fun of books, I can get those wonderful, oh so very wonderful recommendations of books that perhaps I *gasp* might not have heard about and might not have *gulp* read.

I have a TBR (to be read) pile, I have a TBB (to be bought) list I have a book database that I fully intend to update one of these days if I can manage to start cataloguing without starting reading the first, second or third book I pick up. The library is one of my nearest and dearest friends where I can put books on hold, request books and way back when I didn't have a computer I could even go on line there.

Books can be an expensive habit/addiction, and now with this new "reader friendly" format (which is just shite) the book I could have gotten for $9.99 - $10.99 has jumped to $13.99 - $15.99 for a softcover paperback. I've become strict with my book budget money and I've resolved to not get any of those new reader friendly format books....I fully expect to cave of course when a book I actually want to read arrives so bound.

There are at least 4 books I'm waiting for right now (hopes for normal sized paperbacks) JR Wards "Lover Eternal" a novel of the black dagger brotherhood, vamp and the second in a series, the hero's names are over the top HA funny with Rhage (hee there's a h in rage), Zhadist and assorted other abused names but they are well written, with a good sense of humour and come on...I just like the vamps.

Next is Angela Knight's "Master of Wolves", again part of a series, he's a werewolf who can shapeshift into a large dog and is working with the police as a K9.... AK's writing is NC17...no pretty little descriptive words for her...just like sex with sue everything is given it's proper name...

Melanie Jacksons "The Saint", errr part of a series (I seem to have a problem), where the fey live side by side with the "normal" people and the bad guys are goblins...no really goblins. How do you say no to a goblin storyline..well obviously I don't know.

Kelley Armstrong's "Broken" back to Elena, the only female werewolf in existence and a mystery from years past, in London no less, it's Jack the Ripper (I think) there will be time travel and all sorts of mayhem and I can't wait !!!

Oh and Charlaine Harris, Susan Sizemore, the latest JD Robb, Nora Roberts newest trilogy (because there is always a new trilogy), Jim Butcher, Simon Green, Fiona Brand (please start writing like you used to), Kresley Cole, plus many many more.

Anyway I'd better run to check chapters online to see if any of the above are in yet...

People are weird...and dumb, but mostly weird

So I'm a normal person *twitch, make violent stabbing motion with hand* or at least I consider myself pretty run of the mill. I live in fear that I would someday turn into one of those people that completely baffle me thoughout the day.

Today the Annoying Toothless woman, who once yelled at me for not helping her down some slippery steps promptly enough, (I shoulda helped her alright) was on the bus once again. She gets on the bus with a blue suitcase...a blue suitcase that now takes over from her two to three bags with cartoon themes for going to school. She starts talking as soon as she gets on the bus, it doesn't matter who she is talking to, she just natters on and on. Fortunatly I've learned the important bus lesson of no eye contact. For the love of god woman you complain of how hard school it might that have something to do with the fact that you are bringing LUGGAGE, although the wheels might afford better manuervabilty through the halls but really ! It's always whine, whine, whine, ask the bus driver every freaking morning if you can make route 24 because that brings you right to school and blah blah blah....and where the HELL are your teeth! The way your chin can go from normal chin position to right under your nose is just plain scary and wrong, you lose a 1/4 of your face when you do that chewing nothing thing you do.

Then this morning the ATW (annoying too..well you get the idea) makes friends with "Oh my god m'dear I gots an eye infection..it both eyes" woman...who then rubs her eyes....AWWWWW that's gross. I need my purell hand sanatizer please..STAT and bring me a cab while you're at it.

I respect the fact that the ATW is going back to school to do whatever...face gymastics ??? I'm just a little more than peeved by her annoying (to me anyway) personality. I will prevail and not cause mayhem on the bus though I will wander through my mental pictures of someday installing a remote control in her wheeled luggage and lead her on a merry chase, towards a denturist's office, over some stairs and away from the bus, always away from the bus.

Writing Exercise

So as I told a friend, I've started this blog mainly as a way to get back into writing. Which is kind of disingenuous because I don't know that I was every really into writing. It's something that came rather easily in highschool (oh so many moons ago) and I've always enjoyed it but I don't know that I have the mental depth to be a serious writer, as I am a rather shallow pool. (smirk)

Perhaps I'm over thinking it as I have a tendency to do with a lot of things. I don't post on snopes very much as that crowd is intimidating at the best of times and when they get into a debate 'der wicked me son. I am however a much better (er maybe more prolific) poster on the Kelley Armstrong site even if it's mostly in the members only open and chat forums. Sure just this morning I posted in the hot button abortion thread over there. On the KA site they have an Online Writers Group(s) or OWG's and an entire panel for writers discussions, pleas for help, resources, ideas which will be great if I ever get it into my head to petition to join up. I think my main problem is focus though, that and follow through. I've gotten so used to well mental pictures which are just snapshots of the way I see things...like a bus driver who resembles a kinder surprise, or what if the salvation army kettle people followed you around the mall singing at you till you gave a sufficient amount at Xmas time. I think I'll take my own advice and start with something small, a short story maybe and just go for the basics, begining, middle and end. Then perhaps someday I can go back and do something about that poor girl I left in a sewer about to face a troll. She's okay for now though....I hope. ;)

Hell for all I know maybe I'm just destined to be the scribe for all the going's on in the neighbourhood. That would be.....interesting.

Snow Day !

Hmmm having lots and lots of snow today. Very much a stay inside in my pjs until almost 2 o'clock and only getting dressed then because I felt I had to.

The rest of this day has turned into a surf the internet until I feel my eyes may jump from my skull in an effort to just get a rest from it. Movies have been put on, first the background music of Independance Day as Will Smith fires off one-liners and kicks some alien a**.

Now it's The Day After Tomorrow, my sister decided it had a certain symetry to have the storm raging outside while on the small screen everything freezes and the world almost ends. Fun. :)

I think that'll do (pig ha ha ha) for my first blog. Might be back later to play around with this new (to me) medium.

May all your mental pictures be in focus.
